Orenda is a brand new project from Josephine Davies that integrates music, poetry and spoken word. It celebrates the traditional music from the trio's countries of origin, particularly Shetland, Norway, Turkey, Germany and Ireland. They flavour these folk melodies with their own influences from the classical and jazz worlds.

The word Orenda comes from the Iroquois people; it is a spiritual force that may be called forth through song for acts of power, creativity and healing (though it may also be used as a destructive force).
